CLIMATE AND CLOTHING
Israel temperatures are usually high during June and range between 27C and 32C.

Tel Aviv and Tiberias will be hot and humid (like New York or Miami). Jerusalem is dryer and cooler, particularly at night. Massada & Eilat are extremely hot (possibly above 43C, but dry).
CURRENCY
Any bank, post office, and most larger hotels and exchange outlets can exchange currency (and traveller’s checks in most major foreign currencies). The following bank notes are available in Israel: 20, 50, 100, and 200 Shekels (ILS). The following coins are in circulation: 1 ILS, 2 ILS, 5 ILS, and 10 ILS.

As of January 2023, 1 USD equals approximately 3.5 ILS, and 1 Euro equals about 3.8 ILS.

Banks, post offices, major shops and public offices are generally open as follows:
Sunday to Thursday – 08:30-13:00; 16:00-18:30
Friday – 08:30-12:00
Saturday – Closed
INSURANCE
The organisers disclaim all liability for incidents, accidents, and any damage that may arise during your visit.

Before leaving, it is advised that participants purchase travel, medical, personal injury, and luggage insurance in their home country.
PASSPORTS, VISAS AND VACCINATIONS
All travellers must have a valid passport for at least six months beyond the date of entry to Israel and a return ticket from Israel.

Participants are advised to check with their local travel agency about regulations regarding passports, visas, and vaccinations and particularly the time required for obtaining a visa, if necessary. In case of doubt, information can be obtained from the nearest Israeli embassy, consulate or diplomatic mission.

As of July 1, 2022 it is not required to present a certificate of recovery or vaccination, and it is not required to take a COVID test upon entry to Israel.

Taxes (17%) are included in the price of all products and services.
GETTING TO AND FROM THE AIRPORT
Ben Gurion Airport, Israel’s main airport, is located approximately 15 km from Tel Aviv. It has two main terminals: Terminal 3, designated for international flights, and the smaller Terminal 1, designated for domestic and low-cost international flights. There are several ways to travel to and from the airport, including train, bus, and taxi.
