Baseline Criteria for Competition Entry:
- A company registered in Israel
- A startup in the Agro-Food Tech fields
- In the pre-seed or seed funding stage
- After initial maturation proof of concept
- Up to $1 Million raised
- Applied research and technology based solution
- Founded after 2019

June 15, 2023: Notice to five finalists
June 16, 2023: Announcement of five finalists
June 27, 2023: Display at the Food Sec&Tech exhibition
June 28, 2023 (Summit): Finalists’ presentations to the summit participants and judging committees
June 29, 2023: Announcement of the Food Sec&Tech Promising Startup Competition winner and award ceremony

- The competition will be accompanied by a PR campaign which will emphasize the activity of the Food Institute as the national comprehensive body of Foodtech and Agrotech and the leading institute in the field of strengthening the nutritional security and nutritional independence of the State of Israel.
- Instructions for preparing the display at the exhibition will be sent to the 5 finalists.
- Instructions for presentations to the judging committees will be published separately.
- Six months of professional support from the Dana team.
- Professional mentoring services in all fields from the best mentors.
- A customized “personal” program for each startup.
- Support for the management team with an emphasis on female empowerment and working in diverse teams.
- Introducing the startup at Dana’s beta site in Abu Dhabi.
- Pilots project with business partners in Abu Dhabi and Morocco.
- Accreditation and validation by universities: the opportunity to pursue academic studies/research collaborations with renowned academic institutions.
- Strategic connections with investors in the MENA markets.
- Participation in the COP28 events that will be held this year in the Emirates.
The Luzzatto Group will award a prize to the finalists in the competition – each company will receive a prize of 2 hours of consultation on intellectual property strategy with a senior patent attorney.
The meaning of the award is that the teams will receive two hours to consult with a senior partner on how to protect the innovation they have developed and they will leave the meeting with the next steps we recommend they take in the world of intellectual property.
